LEVENGROVE PARK RUN: Kirsty is our new Run Director this Saturday

Can you all give a very warm welcome to Kirsty who is our new Run Director this Saturday. Kirsty has a been a Run Directors at Greenock Juniors. Here at Levengrove Kirsty has been volunteering with us for over 2 years. She is normally found at the finish line timekeeping or in the cafe helping us sort out any technical issues post parkrun.  She will be a great asset to our core team and we are so happy for her to join us. Thank you Kirsty and see you on Saturday.
Meanwhile, earlier this month bank holiday celebrations were in full flow with no less than 23 first-time visitors among the 126-strong participants who walked, jogged or ran our 5K course.
A warm Levengrove welcome was extended to everyone including our ‘Tourists’ hailing from as close as Helensburgh, Renfrew, Paisley and East Kilbride to as far as Liverpool, Buckinghamshire, Cheshire, and Wales including Simon and Carolyn Williams from Wilmslow near Manchester and Shelly, Tim and Danny Ranson visiting from Sudbury in Suffolk. Congratulations also to Shelly on running her 200th parkrun with us today!Lovely to welcome you all to our parkrun.
Further records were broken with some 19-strong Personal Bests amongst our field. Congratulations if one of them was you and congratulations also to the 6 first-time ever park runners. We hope to see you back again in the future.
Fred Davies led the field home today with a shiny new PB in a time of 17.24. Hot on his heels was Cian McKeaney with another PB in 17.38. Next home was Martin Begg with a time of 18.46.
Kirsty Ormond swapped her regular timekeeping slot for her trainers, and led the Women home today with her time of 21.04. She was closely followed by Elaine Somerville in 21.30 and Jane O’Donnell with a new PB of 22.37.
Leading our Junior Males home today was Maxwell Connolly in 20.38 and Joe Butler in 20.51. Alexis Murray headed up our Junior Females with a time of 26.39. Congratulations to our fabulous junior athletes!
