NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde opens applications for new Chair

Applications are now open to appoint a new Chair of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to take over from Professor John Brown.
A Health Board spokesman explained: “Within NHS Scotland a NHS Board chair can be in post for a maximum of two terms, with each of these terms lasting four years (eight years in total).

The advertisement for the post states:
As Scotland’s largest health board, providing health services to over one million local residents, delivering specialist regional services to more than half the country’s population and employing approximately 41,000 staff, NHSGGC is seeking to employ an experienced individual to undertake the position as our Chair.
NHSGGC is keen to attract an individual with strong leadership experience, vision and drive to lead in this demanding but very rewarding and fulfilling role.
NHS Scotland’s values are at the heart of everything we do within NHSGGC. As Chair of the Board, you will need to be able to demonstrate behaviour aligned to these values of care and compassion; dignity and respect; openness, honesty and responsibility; and, quality and teamwork.
