Dumbarton are back at the Rock tomorrow when East Fife visit G82 for cinch League Two action [kick-off 3.00pm].
Sons come into the game in good form having made it back-to-back victories last weekend thanks to a 4-2 win at Stenhousemuir to move top of the division after four games.
Stevie Farrell’s side remain unbeaten with two draws and two wins whilst tomorrow’s visitors are still searching for their first three points of the season.
Despite that, Faz is aware of the threat that the Fifers can offer and insists you only need to look at their squad to get a sense of their quality.
He said: “Every time that we went forward last weekend we looked like a threat.
“Stenhousemuir started better than us in the first ten minutes and we had to weather the storm but you’re away from home against one of the title favourites so they are going to have periods like that but we were able to see it out very well.
“In the second-half I thought we managed the game really well so I was delighted but it’s no more than a good result and we won’t be getting carried away.
“East Fife are title favourites and the bookies don’t often get things wrong. We know they are a good side with good players and were really impressive in the League Cup section.
“It’s maybe not clicked for them in the league yet but they will believe that can happen on Saturday and we need to make sure it doesn’t.
“The reality is this year we will focus on ourselves. We will always give respect to the opposition, like the games previous, but we know if we are in the right frame of mind and at it and believe in what we are doing then we’ll have a great chance in most of games of being competitive and getting good outcomes.”
Meetings between the sides last season were in Sons favour with nine points taken from the 12 available. A Declan Byrne strike, nearly exactly a year ago to the day, secured a 1-0 victory for Dumbarton in the first fixture between the clubs whilst goals from Gregor Buchanan and David Wilson meant Sons could celebrate their 150th anniversary in style on Christmas Eve.
The Fifers got revenge in February as Aaron Steele and Alex Ferguson earned them three points before a Martin McNiff goal was enough to seperate the sides in April.
In team news ahead of tomorrow, the Sons boss reports that only long-term injury Callum Wilson and the suspended Carlo Pignatiello will miss out tomorrow.
