Loch Lomondside singer songwriter Liv Dawn, aka Olivia Haggarty, and her friend Sophia Baverstock, enjoyed a much-needed break from her busy schedule in sunny Spain
The former Vale of Leven Academy pupil, who is an animal lover extraordinaire, and her friend volunteered for nearly three weeks in October at a place called eQuillet Club Hípic based in Torelló, Spain.
Olivia told me: “They had many animals and we helped look after horses, ponies, donkeys, dogs, puppies, cats, chickens, ducks, geese and rabbits.
“We cleaned the yard and stables, weeded and painted the yard, cared for all the animals, helped assist with riding lessons and pony rides.
“We lived with the family who owned the stables. They were lovely and took us in and looked after us.”
She added: “They also rescued and re-homed puppies, which was wonderful and we helped look after and care for new puppies, cleaning, watching and walking them.
“It was an incredible experience!”
love it
This sounds like such a fulfilling and rewarding experience! I love hearing about people volunteering their time to care for animals. I have a few questions about your time at eQuillet Club Hípic in Torelló, Spain. How did you come across this opportunity to volunteer there? Did you have any previous experience working with animals before this? Thank you for sharing your incredible experience!
