Who are the hostages released from Gaza and what do we know about them?

Hamas and Israel have now exchanged three sets of hostages and prisoners during a four-day ceasefire in Gaza.

The pause in fighting started at 7am local time (5am GMT) and is due to end on Tuesday.

Hamas has agreed to release 50 hostages over the course of the four-day ceasefire, while Israel has said it will free 150 Palestinian prisoners over the same period.

On Friday, the office of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that 13 Israeli hostages had been freed by Hamas.

They were taken through the Rafah crossing and taken to hospital, the IDF said.

Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said 10 Thai citizens and one Filipino had also been freed.

In return, Israel freed 39 Palestinian prisoners – 24 women and 15 teenagers – also on Friday.

On Saturday, 13 Israeli hostages were released, along with four Thai nationals, following a delay amid a dispute over aid. Israel released 39 Palestinian prisoners.

On Sunday, Hamas released 17 hostages – 14 Israeli and three foreign nationals.

Hostages released on Sunday, November 26

Abigail Edan was just three-years-old when she was kidnapped by Hamas.

Responding to the release of the first American hostage on Sunday, US President Joe Biden said: “Thank god she’s home…I wish I was there to hold her.”

Ofri, 10, was kidnapped from her home together with her two brothers, Yuval, 8, and Uriah, 4, and their mother Hagar. She spent her birthday in Hamas captivity.

Hostages released on Saturday, November 25

Sharon Avigdori, a drama therapist who works with people on the autism spectrum.
Noam Avigdori is about to celebrate her Bat Mitzvah.
Alma was kidnapped from her home in Kibbutz Be’eri along with older brother Noam and father Dror. Her mother Yonat was murdered.
Noam was kidnapped from his home in Kibbutz Be’eri along with his sister and father.
Hila managed to escape from her home in Kibbutz Be’eri as mother Raaya was kidnapped. She was later found hiding in some bushes and taken.
Maya Regev Jirbi was captured at the Supernova music festival.
Noga Weiss was kidnapped from Kibbutz Be’eri.
Shiri Weiss was kidnapped along with her daughter Noga.
Shoshan Haran, founder of non-profit organisation Fair Planet. Eight members of her family were kidnapped and three were murdered.
A clinical psychologist who was kidnapped along with her husband and two children while visiting family in Kibbutz Be’eri.
Yahel was kidnapped along with her parents and older brother Nave from Kibbutz Be’eri while visiting family.
Naveh was kidnapped along with his sister and their parents from Kibbutz Be’eri.
