Back in 2019, after months of preparation and a couple of trial runs a team of 20 nervous but excited Volunteers were on hand to successfully deliver our Inaugural event on 7th December 2019.
Little did we know that after just 14 events, Levengrove and all other parkruns around the world would have to ‘pause’ following the global COVID-19 pandemic.
That ‘pause’ ended up being until the summer of 2021 but we were buoyed to see some many loyal park runners and volunteers when we started back up. We also welcome a whole new wave of volunteers, walkers, joggers and runners and you’ve kept coming back ever since.
Five of those originals volunteers from 2019 will again be back helping on Saturday, joined by 15 others, to deliver our 4th Birthday Event.
As is usual for our celebratory events, this will include 2 in the role of “Cake Marshal”.
Thank you to all our Volunteers over the years, now numbering 241 different individuals. We couldn’t parkrun without you!
