Dumbarton came out on top in a six-goal thriller at Station Park in the town famous for its bridies.

James Hilton scored the opener after 16 minutes with his deflected effort sneaking past Marc McCallum.

Josh Skelly equalised on the half hour and Matty Shiels fired Sons back in front on the stroke of the interval.

Seb Ross immediately responded for the hosts before Finlay Gray curled in a peach in a manic end to the opening period.

Tony Wallace bulleted home a header just before the 60-minute mark to complete the scoring as Sons remain third place in cinch League Two.

Dumbarton host Clyde next Saturday.
