Cherish the Ladies go down a storm at Celtic Connections

By Joanie Madden

Thank you Glasgow! What an amazing night we had last night at the Theatre Royal partaking in the stupendous Celtic Connections Festival in Scotland.
We absolutely love performing in Glasgow and last night’s jam packed hall was filled with an electrified audience that gave us such a warm welcome and showed us so much love by wrapping up the show with a massive standing ovation.
Thank you each and everyone of you for coming out last night and all we can say is – Roll on 2025 for our 40th Anniversary and we hope we’re invited back.
A huge shout out to Donald Shaw and his amazing team at Celtic Connections that put on this mega extravaganza of a festival! What an undertaking! Thank you so much for having us and for all the work behind-the-scenes.

Oh what a night, what a night it really was. I’ve seen a Cherish the Ladies concert before at the Clifden Arts Festival in faraway Connemara and thought to myself that it couldn’t get much better than that.

But the effervescent Joanie Madden and the musicians and singers who accompanied her on Sunday night proved me wrong. Wrong utterly as Yeats might say.

Robbie O’Connell said: ‘’Such a parcel of rogues in a nation!”
