DEFEAT ON THE ROAD FOR SONS
A double from Martin Rennie consigned Dumbarton to a 2-0 loss against Clyde on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts started on the front foot and took the lead in 12 minutes when Rennie’s long-range drive crashed in off the post.
The Bully Wee came close to adding to their tally before Sons created their first opportunity when Kalvin Orsi and Carlo Pignatiello linked up, but they were denied by the goalkeeper.
Finlay Gray and Ryan Blair were introduced at the interval with the former having a shot after good work from Orsi, but he was off target.
Just as Dumbarton were beginning to create chances, Rennie scored a penalty for the home side just after the hour.
Clyde finished with ten men when Jordan Allan was dismissed but Sons couldn’t take advantage. They host Stranraer next weekend.
