Can the council explain why will there be a charge of £60 to uplift garden waste but you can still put food waste in the same brown bin, which will be uplifted FOC, but will not be uplifted if there is any garden waste in it??? Just doesn’t make sense, plus it will encourage fly tipping !!!

Is this a secret? If only West Dunbartonshire Council would tell us the answer then we could communicate it to the residents of West Dunbartonshire.
Try and take waste to the recycling centre if you have a van. You get turned away trying to be a good citizen because the council require you to notify details of your visit at least 24 hours beforehand by computer.
Now the proposal is to charge £60.00 for brown bin uplift. And how long before it will be £60.00 for your blue bin and your grey bin.
And of course if you want to dispose of let us say a table and chairs or some other garden furniture you need to secure a visit from council to get a quote and uplift which can be weeks later.
No wonder in their drive for cash to make it as difficult as possible for folks to dispose of their waste the old corrupted Edinburgh term Garde Loo ( French garde L’Eau ) is coming back into vogue as folks dump their waste in the back lanes, common areas and country side.
In fact, WDC around six months ago had to implement an initiative to place huge skips all over Pappert, O’Hare, and Ladyton where rubbish dumped in the area could be collected in the skips. We’re going back to pre Victorian times.
