  1. Compost the garden waste.

    Hedge cuttings, grass cuttings, old plants, old flowers are all biodegradable.

    If you don’t have room in your garden find somewhere suitable nearby where the material can break down naturaly.

    On a more serious note the councils restrictions on people taking waste to recycling centres is now feeding an explosion of dumping of domestic waste like old fridges, furniture and other such sized waste. Sadly this doesn’t break down like grass and hedge cutting but the Council know that fine well and are aware that restricting access to recycling centres causes fly tipping.

  2. This could be the first step towards the much talked about but never implemented empowerment measures which give residents the opportunity to have a say in council decisions about contentious matters such as this one.
