Older folk sadly have to realise that there is a war to be fought.
Ukraine is a war against Russia. Wars cost money, big money and Ukraine is certainly costing big money. It may also in the very near future cost us many many lives too as our military get ever more engaged in the hostilities.
If we want war, and it very much seems that we do, the old folks are going to have to play their part funding the war. And they will play their part. That is for sure. Swingeing tax increases on everything from wages, to pensions, to cuts in benefits such as heating allowance and reduced social provision is the policy.
War does not come cheap.
