Meanwhile, deputy leader of the Scottish Conservatives, Pam Gosal MSP., right, commented on this. She said: “Shockingly, 90% of women and girls with learning disabilities are affected by sexual violence.
“However, basic equality data collection, such as disability and ethnic minority status, is weak when it comes to survivors of domestic abuse.
“That is why today in the Equalities Committee I asked the Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport [Maree Todd MSP] what is being done by the Scottish Government to improve data collection on this issue.
“It was disappointing to hear from the Minister that this was a lagging area and that data had not been collected.
“However, even more astonishing was that Scottish Government projects and policies were being delivered without this crucial evidence.”
