HEAR THEM BELLS: SANTA WELCOMES YOU TO A DAY OUT ON LOCH KATRINE

While we are in the business of recommending places to visit during the Christmas holidays you’ll need to get your skates on and draw up a schedule of places to go and people to meet.

And who better to meet and shake hands with than Santa Claus, the great man himself, who has been putting his own holiday diary together of where he’ll be this December.

Loch Katrine in the The Trossachs has become an extremely popular spot to visit, and you will of course want to take a sail on the Lady of the Lake, which is in the picture above with Santa.

Of course, there is not just the one boat on Loch Katrine. There’s the steamship Sir Walter Scott, MV Lady of the Lake, MV Rob Roy III, ML Osprey, plus a Gift Shop, Cafe/BarToilets and Car Park. And an Eco Camp with 10 lodges and 12 motorhome hook ups.

Some of the wide selection of sweets and souvenirs on sale at the Loch Katrine shop. There’s a wee drop of the Christmas spirit there too.

Tourism boss James Fraser told The Dumbarton Democrat: “We’re excited about Santa coming to Loch Katrine. He’ll be here at the weekends through December. To book our Sail with Santa Cruises, call 01877 376315. We also have regular daily cruises, so call our ticket office if you have any questions.”
