JOURNALISM: NUJ JANUARY COURSES – FUNDED PLACES AVAILABLE

20 & 21 Jan, Mon     10:00 – 14:00                        Filming and editing for iDevices (both days)

This is a one-day, hands-on course designed to introduce journalists and others to some of the principles of using iphones or ipads to shoot, edit and upload short films. Participants will shoot and capture their own material on the day and edit it into a finished film, learning how to use voice-over, still images, graphics, text and other content to enhance the appearance of the project.

31 Jan, Fri                 10:00 – 12:00                        Special Effects for Film & Photography

This specialist session is being led by Andy Crabb. Andy has extensive and unique professional experience, including filming with David Attenborough’s BBC underwater team. He is an expert in this field. Special Effects for Film and Photography will help learners to make their filming techniques more varied and interesting, offering the opportunity to create unique portfolios and access new markets.  The 2-hour course will cover the use of green screen technology to enable choice of replacement backgrounds, as well as a variety of simple but effective digital techniques
