WELL DONE SANDY AND PAULCanoeing instructors Paul Richardson and Sandy Johnston were on the River Leven beside Loch Lomond for a peaceful paddle when they noticed Lifebuoy Rings thrown into the water and decided to fetch out the vital life saving equipment, to their surprise a total of 49 were rescued.
Paul said “We were on the River Leven just doing a bit of practice, we started collecting life rings because it appeared as though there were a lot of them in the water. We couldn’t believe how many we found“
Loch Lomond National Park Authority have said they will reassign the rings on the river and Loch Lomond, as well as using some to educate young people at local schools on the importance of water safety.

Ah the quality people of Dumbarton and the Vale throwing life saving equipment into the water.
It’s a regular occurrence sadly. Exactly the same mentality as the wollful fire raisers who plague the area.
Quality people indeed
