PEACE LANTERN AND FLOWERS LAID AT OLD KILPATRICK ON VE DAY

West Dunbartonshire SNP Councillors

Councillor Lauren Oxley – Clydebank Waterfront Ward

It was lovely to join members of the community in Old Kilpatrick to mark 80 years since VE Day, at a commemorative service organised by Old Kilpatrick Community Council ❤️

We laid a beautiful bouquet of flowers and lit up a Peace Lantern in honour of the occasion.
Today, I’m remembering all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom and democracy we so often take for granted.

I’m also thinking of the countless innocent civilians across the world who continue to be affected by war, conflict, and violence. I hope that one day, we can all live in a world built on peace and understanding 🕊️
