Truly inspiring people you meet on the West Highland Way

Gillian Hickman travelled from Canada to experience the Highlands and had a wonderful time. Having clear sunny skies for a week was a gift. Enjoyed many parts of the trail, but if you get a chance to go to the extra distance above the devil’s staircase to hike to the top of the hill, it is definitely worth it for the 360° view. Exceptional hospitality by Frances at Hillview in Drymen and Gogs at Craig Nevis in Fort William. Lodges at Rowardennan were fantastic- bonus that they included a washing machine. Baggage Freedom was fantastic (kudos to the walkers carrying camping gear). I am currently on the Embra bus from Fort William to Edinburgh and would certainly recommend it. Half the price of City Link and brand new electric buses.
The most special part of it all is the truly inspiring people that you meet. Thank you for the company on the trail and great conversations.
