It was great to attend the Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games today, which attracted visitors from home and around the world.
I was honoured to participate in the opening ceremony alongside the Games Chieftain and Chairman, and later presented him with a parliamentary motion celebrating the Games’ 15th Anniversary.
It was great to connect with some of the competitors and hear firsthand about their extraordinary journeys . I also met with the caber toss women’s and men’s teams and had a go at throwing a hammer.
It was lovely to meet with the talented Helensburgh Clan Colquhoun Pipe Band, especially their youngest bagpiper, Rowan.
A special thanks to the organisers and volunteers; whose hard work and dedication made today’s event possible along with the many of the stallholders who were selling local products.
