Eight separate planning applications to build 30 homes across the village of Luss on Loch Lomondside

PLANS to build six detached homes at different locations around Luss have been withdrawn, according to a report in the Helensburgh Advertiser.

The estates company had originally applied for fresh approval after their planning permission in 2016 expired to build three houses south of Muirlands on the B832 and another three north of the site.

At the time, the biggest proposed development was ten detached houses on a site opposite the Luss sports field, which despite receiving approval have not been built.

Muirlands schoolhouse at Luss is in one of the area where Luss Estates hoped to build ten houses.

The estates company also hoped to build ten properties on three sites at Muirlands, on the B832 Helensburgh-Luss road, and four affordable houses on two sites near Oakbank Cottage at Port o’ Rossdhu.

Earlier this week, Argyll and Bute Council Roads had no objections to the plans subject to conditions.

A spokesperson said: “It is recognised that whilst a road exists to the development site, it is historic and not been constructed with consideration for residential use or current design guidance.

“I confirm roads have no objections to the proposed dwelling and access in this location.”

Some of the conditions include meeting provisional parking requirements, traffic calming measures, and road access to each house constructed.
