Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have announced they will be leaving Strictly Come Dancing at the end of the current series.

It said: “We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream.

“We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. They’re the most brilliant team and we’ll miss them every day.

“We will cry when we say the last ‘keep dancing’ but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza. Tess & Claud.”

Friends and showbiz colleagues rushed to send their best wishes to the pair.

Former Strictly It Takes Two host Rylan Clark said: “Adore you both the world. The biggest pleasure working with you both. Pair of icons.”

It Takes Two’s former host Zoe Ball added: “Absolute class act. Bravo ladies.” Podcaster Giovanna Fletcher, whose husband McFly star Tom Fletcher competed in the 2021 series, said: “Love that you’ve done this together. It’s been incredible to watch you both shine.”
