MSP Jackie Baillie has blasted the Scottish Government over flu jab delays which have seen cases soar.
Data from Public Health Scotland has revealed that cases of flu in Scotland have doubled in a week.
At the same time, 400,000 fewer adults have been vaccinated against the illness this year, than at the same time two years ago.
It is understood that the vaccination programme in schools has also been sluggish in West Dunbartonshire.

The Dumbarton politician, also Scottish Labour’s spokesperson for Health and Social Care, hit out, saying: “These figures are a cause for concern, particularly with a huge rise in the number of hospital admissions.
“We know that the NHS comes under increased strain during the winter period, and this means additional pressure on health workers who are already overstretched.
“It is therefore important that those who are eligible to receive a flu vaccination should be encouraged to get one if they are able to.
“However, these statistics also demonstrate the need for the Scottish Government to bring forward a proper plan to get our NHS back to where it needs to be.
“There are 400,000 fewer adults vaccinated now than there were this time two years ago, while children’s vaccination rates are down and some areas have not even started vaccinations yet.
“SNP ministers must grasp this issue, including bolstering our NHS by supporting workers and giving them the resources they need to provide the best care possible to patients.”
For the period, 24 November 2025 to 30 November 2025 (ISO week 48):
- Influenza activity in Scotland continued to increase sharply in week 48, reaching medium activity levels approximately two weeks earlier than in previous seasons.
- Laboratory-confirmed cases more than doubled, rising from 845 to 1,759, and hospital admissions due to influenza increased by 70%, from 426 to 724
Folks don’t trust the government and increasingly people don’t trust vaccines. And as we know from Covid folks were just about forced to take an experimental vaccine that actually changed people’s DNA.
Folks also increasingly know that the police, home office and immigration force have access to people’s medical records and see this as a breach of trust. They also see how politicians use the NHS as a p9litical football. And frankly do3s anyone trust the politicos either here or in H9llyrood.
And they don’t trust mass vaccinations because ofcwhat might ne in it.
