MSP BAILLIE THANKS POST OFFICE WORKERS

Dumbarton constituency MSP Jackie Baillie has thanked the area’s postal workers for their efforts over the festive season.

The politician paid her annual visit to Alexandria’s Royal Mail Delivery Office last week, to see for herself the work staff put into ensuring post and parcels reach their intended destinations over the busy Christmas period.

She also passed on her best wishes to the team for the festive period ahead.

Local posties work hard throughout the festive period to ensure residents in communities throughout Dumbarton and the Vale of Leven receive millions of cards and letters – alongside an ever-expanding haul of parcels – in time for the big day.

Jackie, left, also Deputy Leader of Scottish Labour, spent time chatting with the dedicated staff who give their all over the festive period to sort and deliver.

She said: “I have been coming to visit our hard-working posties annually for many years and I am aware of the effort they put in to ensuring residents receive all their festive post and parcels.

“There can be few more hard-working than those at the Alexandria and Helensburgh sorting offices.

“Christmas is, without doubt, one of the busiest times of year for our committed posties and they continue to make every effort to ensure local residents receive all their cards, correspondence and parcels, irrespective of the weather.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to all those hard-working posties who continue to exceed expectations to ensure thousands of deliveries are made in time for Christmas.”
