SPARTANS 2 DUMBARTON 0 PICTURE SPECIAL BY JON LEINO

Bobby Holmes

Bobby was the club physio from 1968 until 1973 being a vital part of the club during the 1971/72 promotion winning season.

In later years he was a regular attender at the club along with other members of that team.  In his playing days he was a player of note, spending his career at his hometown club St Mirren, scoring the club’s goal in the 1955 Scottish League Cup Final defeat to Aberdeen. He was denied an appearance in the Saints Scottish Cup final of 1959 also against Aberdeen, when he broke his leg in the lead up to the final.  He made appearances for Scotland Under 23 and the Scottish League.  Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
