Spring Beach Clean on Helensburgh Seafrfont …

Organised by the Community Council and Plastic Free crew, the team rolled up their sleeves for a busy Spring Beach Clean session of litter picking, clearing driftwood debris on the slipway, scrubbing the information boards, and much more. The seafront is looking much better for it.

  1. Good stuff to these volunteers with a commitment to their community and a clean environment. We need more people with that spirit.

But plastic pollution is a problem far further up the line. In today’s high technology world how can industry not provide bio degradable packaging. In the old days your Granny used grease proof paper and you got money back on the recyclable glass milk and lemonade bottles. Jam jars too.

But now its all throw away plastic produced by Big Plastic the sister of Big Oil.

Ah well, we wouldn’t have it any other way, now would we. Big oil, big money, now there’s a thing?
