BY BILL HEANEYWhat will Loch Lomondside look like in the next 50 years?
The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park people are asking the public for help with a plan.
A spokesperson said: “There’s still time to help shape how land is used and where development happens in the National Park, as we work towards creating our new Local Development & Land Use Plan.
“If you have ideas for potential development sites, land that could support nature restoration or climate action, or suggestions about land use or policies we should consider, we’d love to hear from you.”
Anyone with an interest in the National Park can submit ideas, including:
Landowners
Developers
Farmers and land/estate managers
Businesses
Community groups
Residents and individuals
Find out more and submit your ideas by 23rd April on our website – https://www.lochlomond-trossachs.org/local-development…/
And even before the ink is dry on this appeal, Heather the Weather, the Park Authority chair and he colleagues are on the receiving end of suggestions,
Here are a few thoughts from residents:
Donna Aplin asks: “How about turning the unused building at Luss into a cafe with more toilet facilities?”
Dan Frazer suggests: “Open more bankside access for people to park and launch small craft. Stop blocking access.”
Eddie Lovett feels strongly enough about this to get his oar in on the “killer road” questions.
He says: “Get the Loch Lomond goat track duelled now! … National disgrace to have such a disastrous and dangerous road to the Highlands and ferries to the Islands.
“It’s on your patch so stop the prevarication and get the job done.”
