The Prince of Wales visited HM Naval Base Clyde in Faslane and met the military community at Helensburgh yesterday afternoon.
Travelling under his official Scottish title, Prince William, Duke of Rothesay, carried out engagements in his capacity as Commodore-in-Chief of the Submarine Service, touring the naval facility at Faslane.
Following his operational briefings at the base, Prince William spent time at the Drumfork Community Centre in Churchill Square, which acts as a central social hub for local naval families, chatting directly with serving submariners, their partners, and their children. Residents reported that the Prince took time to greet families waiting outside the centre. One family remarked: “We saw Prince William at our community centre after school today. The kids who saw him and got handshakes were delighted. He was really nice and gave them time to say hello.”
