The Tartan Army quickly won over the people of Boston and Miami, and now Texas can be added to that list.During the World Cup, Scotland fans have taken over Boston’s Fenway Park and Miami’s LoanDepot Park, and on both occasions, they watched the Texas Rangers beat the home team.
After the Fenway game, infielder Cody Freeman said, “Honestly, it takes over as the loudest stadium that I’ve played at, and I was smiling the whole game.
“That song, the ‘No Scotland, No Party’, we were playing it on the bus, on the plane, and listened to it this morning. That was awesome.”
Like many Scots who haven’t travelled for tonight’s match with Brazil, I am now limbering up to catch a couple of hours in bed before the kick-off. Mon Scotland!
Lots of Scotland jerseys are being worn around Dumbarton tonight, and saltires are flying from windows in the run-up to kick-off time.
Special thoughts for, and encouragement being expressed, for West Dunbartonshire lads Scott McTominay and John McGinn. Bill Heaney
* Sadly, Scotland were beaten 3-0 and will now have to wait until all the matches in their table are over and the results are known before they will know if they can remain in the World Cup.
