Scottish SPCA: Make Scotland the best place in the world for an animal to call home

Scottish SPCA

The Scottish SPCA’s supporters are playing their part to make Scotland the best place in the world for an animal to call home.
Across the country, people who champion our services, campaigns, and research are coming together to improve the lives of animals in Scotland. And we’ve seen the amazing things that can be achieved when we all do our bit to protect animals in need.
Take the story of the Cairnryan puppies — 24 of them were found in a cardboard box under a lorry at Cairnryan Ferry Port by the Scottish SPCA’s Special Investigations Unit. All of the puppies were taken to one of our Rescue Centres for round-the-clock care. The cost of their treatment came to around £25,000. When one of our fundraising team members set up a Crowdfunder, our incredible community raised nearly the full amount it took to help the puppies get back to full health. What’s more, all 24 of them have since been successfully rehomed.
We saw a similar effort during the Pets Foundation Santa Paws Appeal, where we partnered with local Pets at Home stores to raise vital funds for animals in need during the festive period – a busy time for our teams and our Helpline. People rallied around our cause and raised over £10,500, an amount that made an incredible difference to vulnerable animals who needed it most.
It’s clear that when we come together for animal welfare, we make meaningful change happen. This support has never been more needed. The Scottish SPCA receives no government funding, and we rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters to continue to rescue and care for thousands of animals across Scotland each year.
