Policy & Resources Committee to Decide on Helensburgh Waterfront Section 104 Consultation – 15th October
Argyll and Bute Council’s Policy & Resources Committee (P&R) will meet on Thursday 15th October to make a formal decision as to whether to sell off Helensburgh Waterfront to a supermarket developer. The Councillors on the Committee will receive a report on the Section 104 consultation relating to the Helensburgh Waterfront Common Good land. This is a crucial step in the statutory process, and it’s important that residents know who sits on the Committee and how they can observe the meeting. The Policy & Resources Committee is one of the Council’s most senior strategic bodies. It oversees corporate policy, financial strategy, major asset matters and governance issues affecting the whole of Argyll and Bute. Because the Section 104 process concerns Common Good land and has legal and financial implications, the decision rests with P&R rather than the local Councillors on the Helensburgh & Lomond Area Committee.
