Bottle throwing Rangers fan also received an eight-month banning order

A man has been jailed for 16 months for his part in the disorder at the Scottish Cup quarter-final between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday, 8 March, 2026.
Jordan Hadden, 28, was jailed at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, 22 October, 2026 after pleading guilty to two offences last month. He also received an eight-year Football Banning Order.
Hadden was one of the first fans from the home end to run onto the pitch at the conclusion of the fixture. He signalled for others to join the invasion before picking up a bottle and throwing it. A police officer had to take evasive action to prevent being hit with the bottle.
Hadden retreated into the stand and was identified and traced by CCTV enquiries. He was arrested and charged on 24 March 2026.
Detective Chief Inspector David Lamont said: “Hadden was involved in the serious disorder that unfolded at the end of this fixture. His reckless behaviour was completely unacceptable, and it was fortunate that the officer was able to avoid being struck by the bottle.
“This sentence demonstrates that those who engage in this type of disorder will be held accountable for their actions. Our investigation remains ongoing, and we are committed to identifying and tracing everyone involved.”
