Police Scotland officers are appealing for information after a child was struck by a firework in Glasgow.
Around 6.35 pm on Saturday, October 31, 2026, a firework was thrown toward a woman and her children in the Linkwood Place area.
One child in a pram sustained minor injuries.
Detective Constable Ashley Convery said: “This was a completely reckless act that left the woman and her children understandably shaken. The child sustained minor injuries as a result of this incident, but it could’ve ended much worse.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed people in the area that evening in possession of fireworks to please come forward with information.
“I would also ask those with private CCTV or dash-cam footage to review it to see if it captured anything that could assist with our investigation.
“This type of behavior will not be tolerated, and additional officers will be out across the community ahead of Bonfire Night. Anyone who engages in this type of reckless behavior will be identified and brought to justice.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2804 of October 31, 2026.
Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
