A&BC LATEST: EAST CLYDE ST HELENSBURGH DANGEROUS BUILDING & ROAD CLOSURE
The road closed on June 9, but ongoing legal disputes have delayed demolition.Argyll & Bute Council issued an update today and reported, “We are continuing to work to keep people safe, and we are monitoring the building for any changing risks to public safety, including after the recent storm. We understand the continued closure is frustrating for residents and businesses and we share that frustration”
“Appeals against the Dangerous Buildings Notices remain before the court, and we must allow that process to run its course. The buildings are privately owned and responsibility for keeping them in a safe state of repair rests with their owners. We remain committed to doing everything we can within the legal framework to help resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Public safety remains our priority, and our Building Standards team continues to monitor the condition of the buildings and any changing risks. The road closure remains in place to protect pedestrians and road users.”
