The DUMBARTON DEMOCRAT is a new digital newspaper for Dumbarton, Vale of Leven, Helensburgh, South Argyll, Old Kilpatrick and Clydebank and Loch Lomondside. Its editor is veteran journalist Bill Heaney, who has edited the Lennox Herald, the Dumbarton Reporter and the Clyde Weekly News.  Heaney is an award winning editor, columnist and reporter who contributes regularly to The Herald, The Scotsman and The Times and to radio and TV stations throughout the UK and Ireland. He has written three books in the past three years. The traditional  way of receiving news was by newsprint, but with the technology now available in the 21st century, it is easier, more convenient and FREE to access the news on-line through websites like this one. The DUMBARTON DEMOCRAT will be fair, fearless and free of political or commercial bias. It will carry up to the minute news, interesting photographs and features about local people and places and life and work. And it will cost you nothing to access it at democratonline.net   One of its main purposes will be to keep the public informed of what’s happening in local government and at Holyrood and Westminster.

They’re in the news this week …
