The DUMBARTON DEMOCRAT is a digital newspaper for Dumbarton, Vale of Leven, Helensburgh, LOCH LOMONDSIDE South Argyll, Old Kilpatrick and Clydebank. Its editor is veteran journalist Bill Heaney, who has edited the Lennox Herald, the Dumbarton Reporter and the Clyde Weekly News.  Heaney is an award winning editor, columnist and reporter who contributes regularly to The Herald, The Scotsman and The Times and to radio and TV stations throughout the UK and Ireland. He has written three books, two of which are about social history in the old Lennox county. The traditional  way of receiving news was by newsprint, but with the technology now available in the 21st century, it is easier, more convenient and FREE to access the news on-line through digital platforms like this one. The DUMBARTON DEMOCRAT will be fair, fearless and free of political or commercial bias. It will carry up to the minute news, interesting photographs and features about local people and places and life and work in the community.
