  1. Served my apprenticeship as a centre lathe turner in Dennystown Forge 1965 to 1970. It’s located (i.e was) at Dalreoch in Dumbarton. A number of postings seem to mistake it for Dennistoun which is in the east end of Glasgow. I operated lathe 142, a big Noble & Lund, turnings tillers, backposts, rudder stocks, inter shafts, propeller shafts fan shafts and other large machinery components.Last time I operated lathe 142 was for 3 months in the summer of 1974 as my summer vac job between third and final year at uni.Always remember and appreciate Mr Tony Wedgewood’s encouragement to do well at night school, and day release etc. I would be happy to help as best I can with anyone (presumably industrial archeologists.now) building up a history of the forge and the people who worked there during my. time.
    Best Regards
