Sell Flamingo Land site to the community, says MSP Jackie Baillie
Following revelations in The Democrat that the land earmarked for the Flamingo Land development in Balloch is valued at just £200,000, Dumbarton and Lomond MSP Jackie Baillie, has suggested the land should be transferred to the community.
She said: ““It is interesting to learn that Scottish Enterprise has contributed towards site investigation costs at West Riverside. It might be more cost effective for them to transfer the land to the community.”
“Scottish Enterprise has valued the land at just £200,000 so I am hopeful that, given the modest cost of the site, they will consider a community buyout of the land and enable local people to use it in the best interests of the people of Balloch.”
