There’s an old Scottish saying that you can always judge people by the state they left their last house in. This is the former home of West Dunbartonshire Council (the old County Buildings) at Garshake in Dumbarton just now waiting for the demolition squads to move in. The site has been earmarked for housing. Note to prospective housebreakers: No fine Spanish wine, Rioja Castillo at £75 a bottle, nor bottles of Laurent Perrier Brut champagne at £59.95 were found in any of the deserted desk drawers. Nor was there any trace of T-bone steaks at £57.90 a pop in the canteen freezer.
