The marchers assemble at Place of Bonhill, near the Vale of Leven Academy.
The Reclaim The Night march in Vale of Leven on Thursday gave voices to women who often remain unheard. Their stories empowered both them and others. Austerity must be fought to end the oppression of all women. Councils must pass not one more cut to services. Women’s Lives Matter West Dunbartonshire, a new campaign which will hopefully launch soon, to fight violence against women and the capitalist system that facilitates it , will fight for more funding for Women’s Aid Clydebank and any other women’s organisation facing cuts to their budget. This is political. Dead women can’t vote! – Huge appreciation to Louise Robertson of the Community Party, Elaine Graham of Anarcho-Feminism Scotland and Emma Mckerry for all their hard work and calling this demo in response to attacks on women in the area. Also Women’s Aid Clydebank for their wonderful film and all the women and men who came out, marched, chanted and became the change – Llyndaä McEwan
