Figures show 33% of children in West Dunbartonshire live in poverty and 27% of pupils receive free school meals. In addition the number of families using food banks over the summer increased from 576 last year to 775.
More than 800 West Dunbartonshire families are accessing additional free childcare one year ahead of the scheduled 2020 implementation date.
Detective Inspector Andy Doherty of Clydebank Police Office said: “This significant seizure reinforces our commitment to disrupting those involved in the supply of controlled drugs and it ensures that these illegal drugs will not be distributed to our local communities.”
