WOMAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING DRUGS RECOVERY

Around 8:20 pm on Wednesday, 6 May, 2020, officers from Argyll and West Dunbartonshire Serious and Organised Crime Team, searched a house in Cardross Road, Dumbarton, and recovered a quantity of cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £203,400.

A 45-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the find.  She is expected to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday, 11 May, 2020. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Chief Inspector Ogilvie Ross, Dumbarton Police Station, said:  “This is the second recent major recovery in the division.

“Last week, two men, aged 31 and 29 years, were arrested following the recovery of 500 cannabis plants with an estimated value of £300,000 were recovered from an industrial unit in Glasgow Road, Clydebank.

“Our officers will continue to target anyone involved the sale and supply of controlled drugs even during the current Covid-19 restrictions.”
