NEWS Scotland’s titles delivered record total brand reach after seeing strong growth in readership during the second quarter of 2020, according to the latest figures from the Publishers Audience Measurement Company.

The Scottish Sun continues to be the number one news brand in Scotland, with a monthly audience of 3.5 million adults – up 5.4 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 25.3 per cent year-on-year.

The Times/Sunday Times Scotland and times.co.uk is now read by 1.4 million adults on a monthly basis – a record high which represents a rise of 45.4 per cent compared with the previous quarter and 76.1 per cent on the same period last year.

This has been driven by digital growth, which increased 58 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 127.2 per cent year-on-year.

Richard Bogie, managing director of News Scotland and News Ireland, said: “At such an uncertain time for the country, the importance of high-quality and trusted journalism has never been more important.

“The investment in our digital offering has meant that we are able to continue reaching our readers, and we are delighted that an increasing number of people are turning to our titles to keep themselves informed.”
