LETTER TO THE EDITOR

I liked your piece today about WDC’s housing failings.  There is a house at 152 Duntocher Rad in Clydebank that has been empty since being set on fire nearly two years ago by the children of the drug dealer tenant.

Various people including the local Community Council have contacted WDC’s Housing Department to enquire about the failure to get the house ready for rent again.

The excuse is of course Covid. Isn’t it odd how local builders and other tradesmen are busier than ever but WDC’s DLO are incapable of doing anything?

Emails about this to Peter Barry have gone unanswered and Councillor Docherty, Convenor of Housing, pictured right,  seems unconcerned. The house is one of a four in a block in a desirable area of Parkhall so there would be a big demand for it if WDC could be bothered to repair the damage.

This is yet another shameful example of WDC officers’ sloth and failure to do the job we pay them for.

Keep up the good work
