Jackie Baillie has spoken of her delight at visiting the £60 million Chivas bottling hall where she cut the first sod of grass four years ago.

The Dumbarton constituency MSP met with apprentices as well as the company’s Director of Manufacturing Liam Donegan.

Ms Baillie was shown around the Balloch bottling hall at Chivas’ Kilmalid site where famous brands such as Ballantine’s and Chivas Regal are bottled and boxed up before being distributed.

Jackie Baillie said: “It was a pleasure to visit the Balloch bottling hall at Kilmalid having cut the first sod of grass to mark the start of its development four years ago.

“The facility is absolutely fascinating and the staff members who work there are a fantastic asset to the company.

“I was delighted to meet with the very clever and passionate apprentices who are enthusiastic and committed to the company which is performing well again in global markets after sales were impacted during the pandemic.

“I was keen to hear about future plans for the site which sounds as though it is going from strength to strength.  I want to thank the staff at Chivas for making this visit enjoyable and informative.
