Joseph “Joe” Keeley, age 81, of Westmont, and formerly of Brucehill, Dumbarton, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2023, in Naples, Florida. He is survived by his devoted wife Elizabeth (Betty) and their children Marie (Michael) and Kathleen (Thom) and his cherished grandchildren Ryan Sturtewagen, Martin van der Doef, and Bas van der Doef. After working for University of Illinois, Joe enjoyed his retirement years splitting time between Westmont, Illinois, and Naples, Florida, where he was a well-known fixture at the Falling Waters community pool. An avid gardener, Joe took pleasure in growing everything for the enjoyment of others. As a native of Scotland, Joe was a passionate Glasgow Celtic football fan and enjoyed watching games and attending conventions with friends and family. His loving and generous spirit will be deeply missed.
Memorial Visitation will be held Friday June 16th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services 4920 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL. Family and friends to meet at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 64 Norfolk Avenue, Clarendon Hills, Illinois, Saturday June 17th at 10:00 am for a Memorial Mass. Private interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery to be held at later date.
