Inspectors from Education Scotland saw confident, friendly children during a recent visit to Levenvale Primary School and ELCC earlier this year.
Inspectors graded the school as ’good’ for learning, teaching and assessment; ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion and raising attainment and achievement, and ‘satisfactory’ for leadership and of change.
During the visit inspectors found a strong sense of community across the school and early learning and childcare centre (ELCC) with the wellbeing of children and their families at the heart of its work, leading to positive outcomes for children, and their families.
Inspectors saw children who are confident and friendly and who show kindness towards each other resulting in an inclusive welcoming, happy atmosphere across the school and nursery.
Within the school, children are motivated to learn and respond well to opportunities to work independently and as part of a group to take responsibility for their own learning. Inspectors also commented on the quality of the play areas and learning hubs within the ELCC and school and the range of experiences outwith the school and ELCC that support children to gain real-life learning skills.

Margaret Thomson reacted on social media: “My old school! I loved Levenvale School and was very happy there, great teachers and Headmaster, Mr. Thomson. It sounds as if it’s still a great school to introduce children to the world of education!”
