Volunteers with Glasgow’s Hospital Broadcasting Service have been short-listed in four categories in the 2024 UK Hospital Radio Awards.
For the second year running, Hannah Sweeney, Chiara Marchetti and Val Ferrari – the Tuesday evening request show team – feature In the Show with Multiple Presenters category.
Emily Page, who scooped silver in the Best Newcomer category last year, is up for Best Female Presenter this year.
Flora Csizamadia’s Hobby Hour, which offers ideas for patients looking for local groups that can help recovery, is also in contention for the Best Speech Package award while HBS Glasgow stalwart Robert Craw is nominated in the Best Male Presenter category.
Robert said: “I am delighted to be nominated as Best Male Presenter. It’s a pleasure to present music and chat to patients and other listeners. Hopefully they enjoy it as well.”
HBS Chairman Niall Anderson said “Being shortlisted is a great testament to the team who continue to produce such high-quality programmes and really demonstrates the focus on providing the best we can for our listeners”
The final winners are due to be revealed in a gala ceremony on 13th April where the decision of the judging panel which is made up of broadcasting and healthcare professionals will be announced.
