Vale of Leven Academy FP Scotland’s Sharleen Spiteri has received a prestigious award in France.
After being honoured with the Legion of Honour medal at a ceremony in Arles Town Hall, the Texas frontwoman who lived in the Haldane housing estate in Balloch told her Instagram followers: “I’m so honoured to have received the Legion d’honneur medal today. Merci France.”
Spiteri has sold over 40 million records with the group, whose hits include I Don’t Want a Lover, Say What You Want and Halo.
