Excited children at St Michael’s Primary School welcomed Olympian, Rebecca McGowan to her former primary school. Rebecca spent time at the West End school speaking about her experience at the Olympic Games in Paris where she narrowly missed out winning bronze in Taekwondo.
Rebecca spent time encouraging the children to follow their dreams and never give up.
Pupils got the opportunity to ask her questions about her sport, commitment and training. Rebecca also brought her Silver World Championship Medal and was proud to show off her achievement to the children. The children said thanks to Rebecca for taking the time out of her busy schedule to visit St Michael’s Primary.. “It was a great experience for the all the pupils,” a staff member said.
