| Important update from the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow Accident and Emergency
During November, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow typically sees a significant rise in emergency activity. This year, we are experiencing an increase in younger and sicker children attending our Accident and Emergency (A&E) due to a surge in respiratory illnesses. As a result, our A&E is much busier, and the time to treat patients is longer than usual.
We ask you to consider speaking to NHS 24 by calling 111 and your local pharmacy before attending A&E. Additionally, please use GP out-of-hours services and ambulatory units if appropriate. NHS 24 will advise if these are appropriate for you. If you do need to visit our A&E, we ask for your patience with our staff. Rest assured, we are committed to treating your child safely and as efficiently as possible.
Our dedication to providing effective, individualised, patient-centred care remains our top priority. |
